Topics: Blogging for Business
The other day someone asked me, do your blogs make any improvements in the business and how is it benefited?
This was actually a question that made think for a while. Although I could answer him fairly, I thought of making some investigation into the topic. After some research and clarifications, I found some clear points and the next time if someone asks me, I could clearly state the reason.
Generally speaking, blogging is something that most people or companies now do often than it was done in the earlier days.
Still, people are not aware that having a blog is an important thing for a business or person to advance online. Even though ‘blogging’ has been so popular, most people don’t have the idea on what makes blogging so powerful, helpful, and beneficial. To make it clear here are a few points stating the benefits of having a blog section in your website.
I’m sure you can be the one who wants more visitors to your website. Now think of the ways that people come to your website.
So, what is an inexpensive way of driving traffic to your website? The answer is simple-- blogging, which is then promoted through social media and then captured by search engines. Here's how it works.
Your website will have many or few pages. But how often do you update them all? Most probably you may not even have had a look at them all for months. Well, blogging is the only way you can update all these pages, and get them noticed.
Each time you post a blog on your website or somewhere else (in an article site or in a blog posting platform), you get one more page indexed. This means you use your opportunity to show up in search engines and to drive-in traffic to your website through organic or natural search. Frequent blogging with fresh content shows Search engines like Google, Bing and others that your website is active and worthy to be ranked high.
Every blog post you write must be shared through social media which will help your business to be found by a new audience which would otherwise not know you. So make it a practice to share each post through popular social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube etc… In this way, you can not only gain a new audience but also grow your social media reach through these audiences.
All the above points meet one common point i.e., help with driving in new traffic to your website.
Blogs can Convert Traffic into Leads
If your website is getting traffic through your blogs, use this opportunity to convert the traffic into leads. Take advantage of your visitor’s interest into an enquiry of your products or services. You can do it in a very simple way by adding a lead-generating call-to-action in every blog post.
The calls-to-action can lead to things like offering free e-books and whitepapers, free fact sheets, free webinars and more… Basically, these content assets are aimed at helping the reader to take some action through the information shared.
To put it simply, here we are making the process more clear:
A visitor comes to your website==>He sees the Calls-to-action for a free offer==>Visitor clicks call-to-action and gets to a landing page, where they see a form to fill in with their information to receive the offer==>Visitor fills out the form, submits information, and receives the free offer.
You need to realise the fact that every reader of your blog may not be interested in the offer and cannot be expected to convert into leads. Just keep on blogging with fresh ideas.
Business blogging Establishes Authority for your website:
Constantly updating your prospects with the blogs for which they would be seeking information can help you establish an authority in the eyes of your customer. The best business blogs can help a confused customer or lead when he is seeking an answer for it. This will turn advantageous to sales persons to quickly clear things and in turn receive a business deal.
If people come across blogs written by people in your company, it helps you establish more authority and the customers to build trust in you.
Blogs help you achieve results for a long-term
Assume that you are posting an informative and helpful blog on your website, and you are sharing this post in the social media, while others get a notification through their e-mails and RSS feeds. Your active followers happen to read the post and some find it helpful to them. The number of views you receive for your post matters because each time one clicks the chances for your blog to show up in search engine results increases, provided you have the keywords included.
As the days pass on, your followers forget about your post and everything subsides in the buzz of new things. But, your post will remain in search engines for days, months and even years. If someone searches for something similar to what you have mentioned in your blog post, the chances are that your blog post can still be found and get more views and leads too.
While you must keep in mind that every effort may not receive immediate results. Over the time you can count on results without any additional investment. So the effort you put in a blog post today is not wasted, but help you generate leads in the future.Previous Next
